The Interprovincial Volleyball National Championships were held over the long Queen’s Birthday weekend. Bethlehem College was well represented with Rachel Stratton, Monique Bos, Tyler Boyle, Niamh Cunliffe, Millie Jones and Sarah Stratton competing in the age group representative teams. Sarah Stratton had recently returned from her U17 New Zealand trip to Thailand where they competed in the South Asia and Asian championships during their time there. The teams achieved 6th place at the IPC championships.
Bethlehem College runners achieved some fanstastic results at the Waikato and Bay of Plenty Cross Country Championships held on Wednesday. Sam Tanner won his race, Summar Tanner achieved third place, Ian Pugh was fourth in the Junior Boys race and Logan Tanner earned tenth place in the combined Intermediate and Senior Boys race despite being in the younger category.
The Senior A Basketball boys had a great win over Waihi in their A grade game last Wednesday night. The boys demonstrated some tight defense which prevented the opposition from scoring! The Junior A boys also had a really close game against Aquinas College, going down by one basketball in the dying seconds of the game.
The Girls’ 1st XI football team had a convincing win against Te Puke High School last week. Petra Wordsworth scored a hat trick and Bella Thompson, Hope Pyne and Annah Hanson also contributed one goal too, to beat the Te Puke girls 6 – 1.
The Premier One Netball team had a convincing win against Otumoetai College on Friday night and the Junior A Team also had a convincing win against the senior B team from Te Puke High School.
