We are seeking a Teacher with a passion for reading and literacy, or a suitably qualified Librarian, to lead our College library and resource centre. This fixed term position is based at our Tauranga campus and also has responsibility for overseeing the small library at our BC Chapman, Rotorua campus. Please see the position description for further information. Applicants must be conversant with the NZ curriculum, NCEA and be committed to supporting the teaching staff to achieve excellent results and outcomes for students. 

 

This position is Monday-Friday, 7.30am – 4pm, 40 hours per week.  Depending on the candidate this role could sit under the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement, or the Area Schools Collective Agreement.  Remuneration will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

 

Requirements:

  • Professional Library qualification.
  • Experience in developing school library collection including eBooks.
  • Love of literature, including knowledge of children’s and Young Adult literature, especially New Zealand writers.  A Biblical worldview to inform book selection and age appropriate resourcing of the Library.
  • Confident information and digital literacy skills and their use in the library environment.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development to keep up-to-date with IT and library trends.
  • Experience with library management systems – Access-it would be preferable.
  • Skilled, organised administrator able to contribute effectively to all areas of library management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including addressing groups of students and staff.
  • Financial acumen, able to prepare and report on budgets.
  • Confident team player, able to collaborate with school leadership and teaching staff in development of the library environment and collection.
  • Friendly, caring disposition able to interact positively with students from Kindy age to 18 year olds.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our excellent counselling, pastoral care and support team at Bethlehem College. The successful applicant will be an NZAC/ NZACC registered counsellor, with experience working with children and youth from ages 5 -18 and their whanau/family. The successful applicant will be able to work with a range of modalities to support varying needs in our learning community. They will also build and maintain networks with external agencies, work as a member of a collaborative and established counselling team, work with teachers, groups of students, and work efficiently under pressure. Bethlehem College provides a beautiful work setting and is located in the wonderful, sunny Bay of Plenty.

The position of Counsellor is part-time (32 hours per week). These hours will be worked within the 40 weeks of the year the school is open for instruction.

Remuneration will be dependent upon qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.

Applications are open to join our Careers team at Bethlehem College Secondary. The Careers Pathway Workplace Co-ordinator will work collaboratively with our Careers Advisor and year group deans to implement the Gateway programme at Bethlehem College for Y12 & Y13 students.

The position is fixed term commencing 28 January 2021 until 17 December 2021.  The position is part-time for 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, Monday-Friday. These hours will be worked within the 40 weeks of the year the school is open for instruction. Flexibility to work up to an additional 5 hours per week in term 1, should this be required, is necessary as is flexibility to attend meetings after school if required.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement.

This newly created Fixed Term, Part Time role has become available as we have combined some existing roles into one position.  Working collaboratively with a number of staff, the Co-curricular Administrator will provide admin support to our Director of Performance Music, Head of Biblical Foundations (admin for mission trips both local and overseas as conditions allow), and to our secondary school office.  Additionally this position will co-ordinate our Alumni association to keep our Alumni connected to Bethlehem College.

This fixed term position commences 28 January 2021 until 17 December 2021.  The position is part-time for 22 hours per week, 5 ½ hours per day, 4 days per week (Monday & Friday, the other two days to be agreed). These hours will be worked within the 40 weeks of the year the school is open for instruction.  Some after-hours event work may be required.

Remuneration will be in accordance with Grade B of the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement.

This is a Fixed Term position for the 2021 school year.   35 – 40 hours per week, 8:00 – 4:00/4:30pm (school term time plus 3 days at the start of the year before school starts). 

The Remuneration will be in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement and will range between $21 - $24 per hour, depending on qualifications and/ experience.  

This role will offer variety and exposure to a wide range of activities. No two days will be the same! We are looking for a "go getter" who is willing to make this role their own and go above and beyond to deliver an exceptional service in support of the Head of School and the Assistant Heads of School (collectively the Secondary Leadership Team).
